AFRL/RI Success Stories Advanced Capability for Understanding & Managing Effects Networks (ACUMEN): ACUMEN provides the capability to conduct near real-time effects-based plan status monitoring, plan forecasting and impact analysis, plan improvement recommendations, and plan re-apportionment. Air Space Cyber--User Defined Operational Picture (ASC-UDOP): The Air, Space, and Cyber User-Defined Operational Picture (ASC-UDOP) is an AFRL developed visualization application that allows users to graphically configure and manipulate data streams from a variety of sources pertaining to the Air, Space, and Cyber domains. Automated State Space Abstraction for Reinforcement Learning: Reinforcement Learning (RL) is an attractive technology for enabling more autonomous systems that learn through direct interaction with their environment. Breakthrough Technologies: To defend America by unleashing the power of innovative information science and technology to anticipate, find, fix, track, target engage, amd assess anything, anytime, anywhere. Cyber Mission Assurance: Mission assurance requires mapping Mission Essential Functions (MEFs) onto their cyber assets to identify mission dependence on cyberspace capabilities. Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT): A suite of web-based interoperable targeting tools designed around the Joint Targeting Cycle which are used to support operations and intelligence targeting requirements at the national, theater, operational and tactical levels. Nanocomputing: Advances in nanoscience and technology show great promise in the bottom-up development of smaller, faster, and reduced power computing systems. Proactive Plan Maintenance (PPM): The Proactive Plan Maintenance in-house program explores the feasibility of a "living plan development" utilizing agent-based concepts and technologies. Support of Space Situational Awarenes: The Air Force and the nation heavily rely on Space Situational Awareness (SSA) as the foundation for our defense in space. Tactical Information Management | Client Side IM Apps: Develop Information Management (IM) capabilities to provide battlefield airmen timely situation awareness and collaboration with airborne assets through tailored on-demand access to tactical information integrated with their existing applications. Uncertain Causal Reasoning:This project combines theoretical research in causal modeling and Bayesian networks with the development and refinement of a toolkit for applying causal modeling theory to the analysis of complex problems for the Air Force and DoD.
